DLR is the most versatile aerospace research organization in Europe covering a bandwidth from sophisticated aerodynamics and aeroelastics over systems and flight physics up to production and global evaluation research. DLR is working in close collaboration with other European and international research organizations and has been a strategic partner for European aerospace industry especially in high TRL projects. Aerodynamic drag reduction through application of laminar flow has the highest potential to increase sustainability of future air traveling and is therefore a major objective in ongoing DLR research. The unique characteristic of the “One DLR” is that the individual institutes and their dedicated equipment can be configured in the demanded way to set-up a highly competitive and experienced staff of researchers and up-to-date technical boundary conditions at the highest possible level.
